Mochi was an orphan that Hiraki discovered walking in the city alone. Being the mother of the group Hiraki offered Mochi a home with the team.

Sadly Mochi would so anything to be apart of the Morotomei family, and succumed to the Family Head's will.
Mochi set up a trap for the Guardians that ended up fatally wounding Rai. While the other members were told (by Rai) to run, Mochi stayed to help him.

Being lost from the team, Rai had only Mochi to rely on. The two bonded and Mochi began to value Rai over all others and refered to him as "Boss".
